Care Tactics

Tactics for Success

First, a word of encouragement. At my place of work, I'm jokingly called the plant lady, and occasionally someone will ask me for advice, or ask where they can find certain plants. Sometimes, my colleagues will talk me up, but I always bring them back to reality by saying, "Do you have any idea how many plants I've killed to get to where I am now?" That always makes them think.

No one is born with a green thumb, no one just knows everything about a subject automatically. I'll keep things simple in my posts. I won't over-complicate how to care for plants. It certainly isn't rocket science. My view of plants is that being around them should help you relax. You should never have a plant that makes you feel stressed.

Humidy

Humidity plays a larger role in the growth of your plants than you think. It can cause you to have to water more or less often, it can also make a huge difference in how the leaves develop in their growth.

Light

For house plants, the answer to what light is needed, is always bring indirect light. You do not want sunlight hitting your plants directly, but you also don't want them in the dark. I do have a favorite light for keeping at my work and home desks. After using them for months, my plants are still enjoying them. We'll delve deeper into understanding the different types of grow lights.
